In Wayne's words
A wake-up call at 61.
For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by health, nutrition, and the many factors that influence our well-being. Staying active and caring for my health have always been priorities. From the outside, I appeared healthy in every way.
Then, at age 61, everything changed.
Despite bicycling regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, and living what most people would consider a healthy lifestyle, I suffered a heart attack and came close to dying.
It came as a complete surprise, not only to me, but to everyone who knew me.
That experience changed the questions I was asking.
I became deeply interested in what helps people truly flourish, not just physically, but also mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally. I realized that genuine wellness isn't built on one therapy or one solution, it grows from caring for the whole person.
At the same time, another conviction continued to grow within me.
I've always believed that everyone deserves the opportunity for a better and healthier life, regardless of their financial or living circumstances. If this vision was going to become reality, it had to be inclusive and welcoming of everyone, making transformative wellness experiences accessible to as many people as possible.
Then I discovered something that brought all of these threads together.
I learned the meaning of my full name: Wayne Logan McDaniel. Together, my name can be understood as:
One called to build pathways that carry people and their burdens to a place of healing, restoration, and belonging.
That realization didn't create my purpose. It gave words to something I had been living toward for years.
Experiencing Wellness is the fulfillment of that calling, and the reason this center exists.
Everything about this center, from our mission and vision to the experiences we offer and the community we hope to build, reflects that purpose. We exist to help people discover pathways toward greater wholeness and to remind them that they don't have to walk those pathways alone.
